I’ve been busy working on secret gifts for family and friends
12-23-21
Please pardon my silence these last few months. The combination of work and life kept me busy, and the projects I was working on were intended to be gifts for friends and family so I wanted to keep a bit of secrecy for as long as possible. These gifts are mostly cutting boards (go figure!) and I hope to be able to post pictures and more info in the next few weeks.
In the midst of all of this I decided to make some end grain cutting boards for my 2 neighbors, as a way to say “sorry for the noise” and wish them a happy holidays. I finished them over the weekend and dropped them off on their doorsteps this morning. I made sure to leave a little note with the boards and wrapped it all in a clear plastic bag since it is actually raining here in CA (for once). I dropped off both of the cutting boards this morning before heading out for some short errands. By the time I got back I saw one of my unopened packages on my doorstep.
I’ve never actually met my neighbors, but I did leave my name and address on the note so they must have read it in order to return it. They also left no note of their own so I am not sure which neighbor returned it or why. Does this mean I can now make noise whenever I want and not feel bad about it?
Since my neighbors didn’t want their gift that frees it up to go to someone else. If you live in the SF Bay area and want this end grain cutting board hit me up!
XMAS miracle update! The neighbor came to my door today to make sure I received my “photo album” that was wrongly delivered at their door. It looks like they just saw my name and address in the signature and thought the delivery person mis-delivered a package! I let her know it was a gift to them, gave her the board back, and overall she seemed very pleased but confused.
