The end is here

That’s it! She is basically complete, or as complete as she is getting while in my hands. I’ve named her Dora since she is not your average explorer. The Lacquer gave me a bit of a headache on the front side but I managed to keep it under control.

I discovered that the bridge needs grounding, meaning I had to drill a hole in the now finished body. I did not have a good time drilling this hole, it was very nerve racking, but thankfully it went alright. Next came adding metallic tape all over the electronics cave, to act as shielding. I could then add the electronics themselves, installing the switches, aux jack, and pickups. I spent some time to make sure the pickups were properly connected to the 3 way switch using my new multi meter that I got for this project. Once I was satisfied they were the connected in the proper direction I went ahead and soldered all the needed wires in the electronics cave. Next came the knobs I made out of some Ebony, trying to use as most as I could out of large cracks that went through the wood. I then screwed in the electronics back plate and temporarily attached the neck so I could call it done! I will be shipping this with the neck detached so the full final setup will have to wait until my buddy receives the guitar.
