For my 30th birthday in 2018 I took a week off near my Birthday in February and headed out to Death Valley National Park. The timing was perfect since the weather was nice and it was still chilly in the Valley. I never had to worry about the absurd heat!
There was something about the vastness of Death Valley which resonated with me. There was so much space with so little but rocks that it was easy to be alone for a long time. Basically I only ran into other hikers at the parking lots for the trail heads, or at the one little habitable section inside death valley, where my hotel was.
While I was only in the valley for 2~3 days I did try my best to get the most out of my time. I tried to do 2 hikes a day, as well as going out for night photography or getting up early for sunrise pictures.
