For the 2024 eclipse I travelled to Fredericksburg, TX, staying with my parents in their RV. I may have convinced them in early 2023 to add this as a stop on their Southern USA trip they were planning.
While my family and I had a great time, sadly mother nature decided to throw clouds our way for basically just the day of the eclipse. We managed to see 30~60 seconds of cloudy totality out of the 4 minutes, but the entire area did turn nighttime dark. I briefly saw 1 with my naked eye before cloud took it away.

Since flights were super expensive the day after the eclipse I decided to spend an extra day with my parents which we had to fill somehow. RV parks are only so exciting. We chose to hike Enchanted Rock, something we had done a few times many moons ago when we used to live in TX.
